Egypt and all that goes along with it....

Well, I think most of you know I'm going to Egypt. I'm not sure how much computer time I'll have before I leave so, I thought I'd throw this all out now.

In addition to prayer for a safe trip, I was hoping you could pray the Jesus be ever-present during the duration of the trip. There's only one girl who I think might be Christian who is going on the trip but she doesn't really like to talk about it. There is another girl who is a converted Muslim. The rest of the people are fairly anti-Christian for one reason or another. One guy was almost irritated when he found out I'm Christian. So, while this is a study-abroad, you'd all better believe I will take this opportunity to share Christ with people who need Him. Just pray that opportunities present themselves and that people are open. Egpyt is a Muslim nation. (I thought it wasn't, but it is.) Nintey percent of the nation is Muslim and the other ten percent is primarily Coptic Orthodox.

Also, Egypt was bombed recently (April). So, if you could also pray that we are all safe while we are there, that'd be pretty cool. Most of us will be flying out Thursday night (29 June) and returning 1 August. I will try and keep you updated with things as they progress.

As a random side prayer, the freeway freaks me out. Tomorrow will be the first time I've ever driven on it alone. So, uh, I guess you can pray that I don't freak out so much that I'm not able to drive well. Or just pray that I don't freak out.

Thanks. -Theresa

prayer request

This summer, I'm working up north at a Christian camp, Michi-Lu-Ca. I've finished my first two weeks of counselor training, and next week I will be back at camp for the summer. I ask that you pray for the camp, that it could be an effective place for campers to grow in their faith, as well as for God to work through me as I get to know both the youth at camp and the other staff.

Life After the Wedding

To all of you, thank you for supporting Natalie and I through the entire wedding process. Although weddings are fun and engagements are necessary, we are both happy to have it all over and done with. On that note, please keep us and our new marriage in your prayers. Many people say that your first year of marriage is the hardest. We don't believe it has to be that way. Natalie and I believe that the first year of any marriage can be excellent and exciting if both parties involved strive to put the other person first.

That being said neither of us have ever been marriage before so this is all very new to us. We love our marriage but it is difficult to deny the divorce statistics or the unhappy marriages we see all around us. [Don't get me wrong, Natalie and I are not talking about getting divorced :)]. So thanks.

Also a praise, Natalie is starting her new job tomorrow and we are very excited about the fact that her normal working hours will be Tuesday - Friday 6:00 am - 4:00 pm. The other shift that she could have worked were night or weekend shifts. As many of you have seen Natalie at night you know that it is in everyones best interest for her to work during the day. So for those of you who were praying about this thank you and Praise God.
